WHAT IS BLEACH BATH?
First, I should tell you that bleach Bathing is not recommended for beginners and this process should be practiced with caution. So, Bleach bathing is a softer, bleaching process which goes step by step to lighten your Hair gradually or remove color one shade at a time.
I always like to take a bleach bath to lightly remove the color or bleach completely. There are instructions on the box, but I do not use accurate measurements because I have done this often, I just rush it. For my hair, what I do is, I mix bleaching shampoo into a bleach jar and use coconut oil for extra protection. The bleach mixture should be creamy, because if it is high in water, we cannot get good results.
I will highlight some important hints here:
- You only need 4 things:
- Shampoo
- Bleach powder
- Peroxide
- Coconut oil
- Bleaching treatment mixed with chemicals. So, if you mix it with coconut oil, the risk will not be reduced.
- Even if the oil does lessen the effects of the bleaching, it’s also true that the mix has a shampoo. Shampoo sulfates + the peroxide ends up being an aggressive combination for hair.
- Though coconut oil reduces chemical effect, still shampoo sulfate + peroxide end up being an aggressive combination for hair.
- To get less effects of the bleaching mix, you can apply coconut oil before, during and after the bleach bath.
Here we’re talking about raising your hair cuticles, to eliminate the pigments. Keep in mind that we’re not talking about dye or a color rinse.
For the bleach bath, you need to add shampoo and coconut oil into the bleaching mixture which is made with peroxide and bleach powder.
Right! Now you have already added shampoo and coconut oil into the bleach mixture and maybe you think that your bleach mixture is less harmful to your hair.
No. Risk of damaging your hair will still be the same.
But when the cuticles open up, the hair fiber will be hydrated as it’s absorbing it with the coconut oil. That is how coconut oil gives protection to your hair during the bleaching process.
CAN BLEACH BATH HARMFUL FOR YOUR HAIR?
YES! That is the truth. Here you need to know all the facts about bleach baths. Once you know everything about bleach baths, it is up to you to decide whether or not to apply it.
Actually, this kind of home mixtures are more harmful than bleach products. In that people used to add more shampoo and other materials for it.
SO, DO YOU KNOW WHY PEOPLE ADD MORE SHAMPOO?
Yes, you are required to get rid of your oily hair and keep it healthy and clean. so that you are using more shampoo during bath. Actually, what happens is more sulfates in the shampoo can eliminate too much moisture, leaving your hair dry and unhealthy like irritate, such as reddening, dryness, and itchiness.
So, just think! If you added these sulfates containing shampoo into the active ammonia of powder bleach and peroxide, what would happen?
Mmm… ok! Then you can say to me, but there is coconut oil and why can’t it reverse the effects of the chemicals, including shampoo?
The coconut oil is just one fighter to protect off an aggressive chemical. If you protect your hair with coconut during the bleaching treatment is also not enough.
Now, what you can do is, in addition to adding coconut oil into the bleach mix, you can uplift the protection by applying coconut oil to your hair before and after the treatment.

3 IMPORTANT THINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE APPLYING A BLEACH BATH
- Take a section of hair between your fingers
- Holding it straight and place a drop of water on it
- Count the time it gets to absorb the water
#1 if your hair absorbs the water within 10 seconds, hair cuticle seems delicate and your hair is too vulnerable to bleach.
#2 if you find that your hair is getting stretched after getting wet, do not take a bleach bath. Because that elasticity is a symptom of brittle hair.
#3 finally, check the hair strands, it cannot always be ruled out.
- Apply the bleach bath to a small portion of your hair.
- Check how it reacts.
- If you don’t observe severe damage, you can apply the coconut oil.
- Strat the bleach bath.
